What can I say? I have a thing for sushi. And I love to crochet. This was just sort of a natural progression.

sushi icons! your food related items are always a big hit! my parents loved your beaded musubis last year! i'm hoping my grandma will agree to come out this year to look at the crafts - she was especially impressed by your works that i showed her :D i think i still need to show you her temari...i have to find them first ;D she was really suprised that there were people on this island that do such beautiful temari like yours <3 :D

I had a big laugh in the dressing room Saturday night. One of the younger ladies had a very pretty kimono with temari all over it and when I commented that I liked her temari, she didn't know what I was talking about. I know how surprised your grandma must have been because most of my Japanese friends didn't even know what a temari was! Such a dying art.

that's funny! i remember seeing the temari kimono! so sad that its a dying art...youre going to be one of the very few who keep it alive in the islands - i should learn too, just so we can keep the tradition of hanging temari on the christmas tree alive every year...even in japan, hardly anyone does it anymore... :(
