Okay... I know this seems like it's breaking the trend of my Halloween-themed crafts, but really, it's not. Let me explain. First and foremost, I don't do doilies. I admire people who can make them because although I can sit for months on end stitching the tiniest glass beads onto a felt form, I haven't the patience to crochet something so intricate from thread. Until I saw this pattern. It was called Simply Gothic, which was sinister enough to intrigue me right off the bat. Gah! Pulling teeth would have been easier! This turned out prettier than I imagined it would, but I am never, ever going to crochet another lace doily as long as I live!

They probably meant it that way, which is why they named it Simply Gothic. I'm not a doily person, though. I just wanted to try one, so that I could say I've made a lace doily, I hated it, and now I'm moving on with my life! Good thing I have the ability to even make things I dislike look good!

As much as I love to crochet, this was just way too involved. I prefer my crochet to be a little more fun than this.

Ohh, yay! I'm glad she got there okay! And I'm happy that you like her. Happy Belated Birthday, hon!

Yeah, I was crazy to do this doily, but at least I tried it. Now I can say I'm never going to do one again because I've gotten it out of my system already!
